Susanne has proudly called Saturna Island home since 1968. Growing up on the island gave her endless opportunities to explore its remarkable natural beauty and develop a deep connection to the land and community. It was here that she met her husband of 48 years, Ian, and together they raised their three children while building a life rooted in family, farming, and island values. For many years, they operated a sheep farm on the historic Payne family farm, an integral part of the island’s rich agricultural heritage.

Susanne served for 22 years as a Trustee on the Gulf Islands Board of Education, representing and advocating for local families and schools until her retirement in 2018.

With extensive local knowledge and a passion for helping others find their place in the Gulf Islands, Susanne has been the resident Realtor on Saturna Island for over 20 years. In June 2020, she became the Owner and Managing Broker of Gulfport Realty. Today, she works alongside a team of eight Realtors serving buyers and sellers throughout Vancouver, Mayne, Galiano, Pender, and Saturna Island.
